Plumbing fixture installation is one of the most-used trades in any renovation. Bathrooms typically have 8–15 fixtures to install (toilet, basin, taps, shower valve, shower head, bath taps, towel rail, isolators, traps, wastes). Kitchens typically have 4–8 (sink, taps, dishwasher connection, washing machine connection, fridge water line, filter tap). Even small refurbishment projects usually have multiple fixtures to swap or install.

We install plumbing fixtures as part of broader bathroom renovations, kitchen renovations, extensions, loft conversions and home renovations. We don't operate as standalone emergency plumbers — for boiler breakdowns and burst pipe call-outs, you need a 24/7 plumber. But for planned fixture installation as part of a build or refurbishment project, we deliver it in-house with the rest of the work.

Plumbing fixtures look simple but get them wrong and the consequences are expensive. A toilet pan not properly sealed to the soil pipe will leak progressively, rotting floorboards under the bathroom for months before anyone notices. A shower valve set into a tiled wall without proper isolation means any future repair requires demolishing the tile work. A kitchen sink installed without a properly sealed sealant joint allows water to wick into the worktop and fail it within years.

Quality installation means: full silicone sealing of every fixture-to-surface joint; isolation valves on every supply so individual fixtures can be serviced without draining the system; proper waste falls (1:40 minimum on horizontal waste runs); access panels behind concealed cisterns and bath panels so the fittings can be serviced; PTFE and jointing compound on every threaded connection; and full pressure testing before commissioning.

The most common fixture installation problem we get called to fix is shower valve concealment without access. Cheap installations bury the shower valve behind tiled walls with no access panel — meaning when the cartridge needs replacing (typically every 5–8 years), the entire wall has to be opened up. We always install concealed valves behind removable access panels or on the back of accessible cupboards.

The second most common is undersized waste runs. A 32mm basin waste sometimes works for a single basin but blocks repeatedly when it serves a basin plus a shower or a bidet. We size waste runs properly at first-fix.

The third is missing isolation valves. Without isolators, you can't change a tap washer without draining the whole system. We fit isolators on every fixture supply as standard.

The fourth is poor sealing — bath edges, shower trays, basin overflows, tile-to-tile junctions. Sealants need the right product (sanitary silicone, not bath sealant for tiles), proper bead size, full backer rod where gaps are wider than 6mm, and clean substrates. Most failed bathroom seals fail because someone skipped one of those steps.

Plumbing fixture installation costs in Perth vary by complexity.
